Job Summary:

DT Professional Services is seeking a System Administrator with strong experience supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux (REHL) in secure Azure Government Cloud environments. The ideal candidate has hands-on expertise with REHL 8/9, Azure Virtual Environments and enterprise cloud operations. This is a fully remote role, and requires and active Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide maintenance, sustainment, installation, configuration, patching, troubleshooting, break-fix, data protection, and vulnerability remediation for RHEL 8 & 9 systems running in Azure Government Cloud across multiple US Gov regions.
  • Scale and maintain RHEL environments, including deploying and upgrading virtual machines, supporting hybrid cloud configurations, and managing servers, clusters, highly available infrastructures, and RHEL endpoints.
  • Support and administer critical services including LDAP, SYSLOG, DNS/BIND, JAVA, NTP, SMTP/Mail Relay, and RHEL patching.
  • Maintain full DISA STIG compliance, complete STIG checklists, run SCAP/eVALUATE scans, identify vulnerabilities, and remediate findings.
  • Maintain and administer Red Hat Satellite Server (or approved services) to manage updates, package distribution, and system configuration.
  • Provision, configure, and maintain Azure Dedicated Hosts and Host Groups for hardware isolation supporting IL2, IL4, and IL5 workloads.
  • Manage backup and disaster recovery solutions using Azure Backup, Recovery Services Vaults, snapshots, or approved services, ensuring compliance, application consistency, business continuity, and cost optimization.
  • Configure and maintain Azure Hybrid Benefits for RHEL servers.
  • Support RMF Steps 1–6 to meet ATO requirements and maintain system accreditation timelines.
  • Ensure ongoing STIG compliance, routine patching execution, and security control monitoring aligned with SCCA requirements.
  • Manage and update Plan of Action & Milestones (POA&Ms), ensuring vulnerabilities are tracked, mitigated, and resolved within required timeframes.
  • Conduct continuous monitoring of systems following the approved System Level Continuous Monitoring (SLCM) strategy.
  • Review ACAS scan results and update POA&Ms in accordance with DoD and DON standards.
  • Maintain hardware/software inventory and system assessment documentation, updating annually or upon environmental changes.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Active DoD Secret clearance or higher.
  • 3–5+ years of experience administering RHEL 8/9 environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Azure Government Cloud, Azure VMs, and Azure Dedicated Hosts.
  • Experience with DoD cybersecurity requirements including DISA STIGs, SCAP, ACAS, and RMF activities.
  • Proficiency managing RHEL services such as LDAP, SYSLOG, DNS/BIND, NTP, JAVA, and SMTP.
  • Experience with backup technologies and disaster recovery in cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with hybrid cloud architectures and highly available systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • ​​​​​Experience with Red Hat Satellite Server administration.
  • Azure OR Red Hat certifications such as:
    • AZ-104: Azure Administrator
    • AZ-900: Microsoft Azure Fundamentals
    • AZ-305: Azure Solutions Architect
    • RHCSA: Red Hat Certified System Administrator
    • RHCE: Red Hat Certified Engineer
  • Experience supporting Navy, NAVFAC, DISA, or other DoD organizations.
  • Experience working with Impact Level (IL2/IL4/IL5) systems.

The compensation range for this position: $105,000.00 - 135,000.00
