Job Description:
DT Professional Services is seeking a Telecommunications Network & Systems Technician to join our team in beautiful Oceanside, California! There is required travel for this position – an estimated 10 days of travel per year. A company vehicle will be provided. The candidate should have working proficiency with a range of RF and microwave technologies, as well as deep technical knowledge and a proven track record in managing and optimizing advanced communication systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Systems Installation and Setup:
    • Lead the installation of complex communications systems, including supporting subsystems across various environments- This includes setting up equipment, antennas, and cabling, as well as lighting on towers and buildings.
    • Work comfortably at heights of up to 50 feet using ladders, bucket trucks, and man lifts.
  • Logistical Management:
    • Oversee comprehensive logistical support tasks encompassing asset management, inventory control, configuration, and change management for advanced radio and networking equipment.
  • System Administration:
    • Manage and maintain the interface of network and radio communication systems, ensuring seamless operation and integration of supporting and peripheral systems.
  • Low Voltage Systems:
    • Install, maintain, upgrade, and document various low voltage power systems such as power-over-ethernet devices, CCTV, VoIP phones, security systems, routers, switches, wireless access points, antennas, GPS devices, etc.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Must possess an active DoD issued Secret Clearance
  • Must possess for Comptia Security+ certificate
  • Must possess a valid CA driver’s license (required)
  • 3-5 years of experience working with RF and networking technologies
  • Experience with the termination of CAT6, coax, and other low voltage cable types
  • Demonstrated ability to work and coordinate with a team across multiple disciplines 
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office365 products: Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Proficient with Teams & Visio
  • Must possess the ability to: assemble briefs, compose technical documents such as policies and procedures, and draft reports
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, and must be a team player


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of basic networking protocols - LAN, VLAN, DNS, OSPF, IPsec, VPN, VoIP, SNMP
  • Drafting, updating, and managing documentation for RF and networking systems
  • Preferred RF equipment experience: General Dynamics, L3 Harris, Thales, Motorola Astro25, Aviat Microwave
  • Preferred IT equipment experience: Dell, Juniper, Synology, Media Converters, Perle, IOT and SCADA devices

The compensation for this position: $68,000 annually.
